Liz Joyce
Liz Joyce is a puppeteer, writer, and director who created A Couple of Puppets and does many shows for children aged 10 months to 10 years. She makes twists on fairy tales, folktales, educational shows, and original creations, all while performing her puppet creations. Liz has recently served as one of the Board of Directors for the Jim Henson Foundation, while other people involved include Lee Bryan, Jon Ludwig, Cathy McCullough, and more. Joyce has also served as one of the numerous puppeteers within The Book of Pooh which featured several Muppet performers, like Eric Jacobson. I've read that she is also the founder and artistic director of Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre, where she hosted many talented puppeteers since 2001. Her best known puppet project was her operetta of Sing a Song of Sixpence, and that even won her the highest award in American puppetry known as UNIMA Citation. Liz Joyce did a whole lot of puppetry performances across America, most notably in several areas of New York such as Manhattan, Long Island, and Brooklyn, to name a few. IMDb states that she was production coordinator in several US dubbed anime such as Adventures of the Little Koala and David the Gnome, but I would like to see proof on her website that she indeed coordinated production on anime. She believes puppetry is the gateway to theater and that the art form breathes beauty and life into storytelling. I agree with Liz all the way, you never know her belief will be true. Let's just hope Joyce is still doing wonderful in the puppetry business today. Currently, she serves as the Vice President of the Puppeteers of America, that is what I call a huge accomplishment for her. Liz Joyce, you're wonderful performing for children and you know how make puppetry beautiful for millions of people. I hope someday you'll run into a Muppet performer again and tell him/her all about your experience with your companies. Until then, just keep on being a star. Enjoy overseeing on the Puppeteers of America Liz. Keep the puppet magic Joyce!
