Gavin Sainsbury
Gavin Sainsbury is an Australian puppeteer, prop master, and mechanist who puppeteered on a couple of Henson Company projects such as Bambaloo, Farscape, and the stage show Pan. He got to work with several performers on the former two such as Fiona Gentle, Mat McCoy, Roslyn Oades, Sean Masterson and more. It's a good thing Gavin has a resume and work account, so anybody who wants to know about him, can look up online and read his projects. Some of the outside projects Sainsbury puppeteered on include The Wiggles, Raggs, New MacDonald's Farm, When Good Ghouls Go Bad, and most notably, the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular. In addition to puppetry, he also provided standby props for Hi-5 and was a machinist and stage manager for numerous live shows. His endorses have included Paul McGinnis and Graeme Haddon who directed him on some of the projects listed. Gavin Sainsbury seems to be highly skilled at both regular puppets as well as animatronic puppets which earned him the positions of being the Head of Voodoo Operations and Head of Puppetry for Global Creatures & The Creature Technology Company. Muppet Wiki should look at his LinkedIn account and read his resume because it shows that he indeed performed with the Henson Company. He even got to help out with the prop department on the second season of Bambaloo. Let's hope Gavin will continue to be the head of puppetry at the companies because he's gone from apprentice puppeteer to master puppeteer. If only the Henson Company could do more Australian projects, then Sainsbury can show his stuff some more. In the meantime, there's no telling what this man will do next in his career. Perhaps he'll continue to work on the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular. Gavin Sainsbury, from performing with the Henson Company to performing with the Australian kid's band, you've done wonderful work. Keep on working with both puppets and props and remember how much people loved your stuff. You'll get a page on the Muppet Wiki soon; I just know it. Excellent puppet skills Gavin. That's "dino-mite" Sainsbury!
