Chris Kendall

Chris Kendall is a British puppeteer, performer, and puppet builder who has performed for numerous areas of show business, from television to film to music videos. He was one of the many additional puppeteers on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, where he worked with various Muppet performers. Chris must have felt excited to perform alongside some of the legendary puppeteers who performed on both Muppet and Henson Company projects. Kendall also built and performed puppets for several shows on Netflix, CBeebies, CBBC, and ITV, as well as hosting online campaigns, commercials, and music videos. Some of the productions he did outside include Dodge's Pup School, Britain's Got Talent, Puppet Aid, two 2020s Sooty projects, and many others. He even has his own blog like this own known as Chris Kendall Puppets where he revealed he was another person inspired by Jim Henson to perform. Chris Kendall got to work with many other puppeteers in his career including Leonie Wall, Tim Cherry-Jones, Julia Frost, and Phil Fletcher, to name a few. He must be so proud to have such talented puppet building and performance skills that he put to use throughout his job. He should also be lucky enough to work in two crossover specials featuring several British puppets children grew up with over the years. Chris should consider doing more Henson Company projects in the future, the next time they create a production in the UK of course. Until then, Kendall should keep up the fantastic work building and performing puppets for television. Maybe he will get the opportunity to work with puppets in a feature film, you never know. Even so, I'm glad he got to do at least one Henson Company production in his career. Chris Kendall, you're so talented at building and performing puppets, it's no wonder you were selected to assist on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance with others. Continue to do so well so that you'll become another master at puppetry, along with everyone written on this blog. There's no telling what's next up your sleeve, but I hope it's something good. In the meantime, splendid puppets you've got Chris. Being inspired by a legend really paid off Kendall!

June Privett

Image
June Privett is a puppeteer, puppet designer, and builder who is best known for performing on the Baby Einstein videos. She worked alongside her husband Dave Privett on the videos and also at their puppet company PlaySoup, which made the puppets. June and her husband replaced Markie Scholz since more puppets were probably needed during the later video series. Privett appears to have done wonderful as an entertainer for babies since she's done numerous videos until the series ended. Afterwards, she and her husband have been introducing many innovations at PlaySoup such as the Toobie puppets. The two also sell their puppets to people, sort of like Steve Axtell at Axtell Expressions, he also sells puppets for people to use in their acts. Though I wish June Privett would've met a Muppet performer from Sesame Street for they did their own project for babies, Sesame Beginnings. Since 2018, she and her husband sold their company to another couple, Kristofer and Amanda Sommerfeld, two ...

Gavin Sainsbury is an Australian puppeteer, prop master, and mechanist who puppeteered on a couple of Henson Company projects such as Bambaloo, Farscape, and the stage show Pan. He got to work with several performers on the former two such as Fiona Gentle, Mat McCoy, Roslyn Oades, Sean Masterson and more. It's a good thing Gavin has a resume and work account, so anybody who wants to know about him, can look up online and read his projects. Some of the outside projects Sainsbury puppeteered on include The Wiggles, Raggs, New MacDonald's Farm, When Good Ghouls Go Bad, and most notably, the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular. In addition to puppetry, he also provided standby props for Hi-5 and was a machinist and stage manager for numerous live shows. His endorses have included Paul McGinnis and Graeme Haddon who directed him on some of the projects listed. Gavin Sainsbury seems to be highly skilled at both regular puppets as well as animatronic puppets which earned him the ...

Brock Winkless

Image
Brock Winkless was a puppeteer and visual effects technician, best known for being the puppeteer of Chucky in the Child's Play franchise and the Crypt Keeper on Tales from the Crypt. A magazine stated that he understood lip-syncing of a puppet's mouth movements which gave him the skill to puppeteer his characters to vocal tracks. Brock frequently worked with director and make-up artist Kevin Yagher on many projects, such as the Child's Play series, the Crypt Keeper, and the film Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. Winkless also collaborated with other studios for make-up and visual effects throughout his career, including Animated FX Inc., owned by Norman Tempia. Other films he puppeteered in over the years have included Death Becomes Her, Man's Best Friend, Congo, The X-Files, and Dr. Dolittle 2. But no matter what films he does he'll always be known for being both Chucky and the Crypt Keeper since he's done both roles for years. Apart from doing puppetry, Brock Winkless...
