Marianne Mettes

Marianne Mettes is an Australian puppeteer, artist, singer-songwriter, and educator who has been working as a professional since her teenage years. She has travelled, trained, and worked around the world, not to mention was trained by master puppeteers and puppet builders. One of the companies Marianne worked with was Sesame Workshop, according to her website, as well as the National Museum of Australia and many theatres. In addition to doing puppet shows, workshops, and educational programs (Possum's Club), Mettes also created her own short films including Namahey and Woo Pee Woo. Apart from puppetry, she also does lots of artwork, mainly of furry four-legged animals, which I must say look very fascinating on her website. Lastly, she is a talented musician and singer-songwriter where she performs songs she wrote such as Chance to Breath, Time is Passing, Beschuit (Dutch cookie), and many others. Marianne Mettes is certainly one of the most talented Australian artists there is to this day, I think she would be perfect to do a project by Sesame Workshop. You never know when the company might make a new Australian version of Sesame Street, not like Open Sesame, which was really a clip package. She's so talented, she even runs 2 businesses named PuppetOOdle and Access Art Academy, both do performances and workshops. If there was a new Sesame Street-related production to be taped in Australia, Marianne should definitely consider performing on that. After all, Mettes did work with Sesame Workshop during her time in New York over the years of her work. In the meantime, she should keep doing puppetry, art, and musical performances across Australia and the world, mostly USA and Europe. From her childhood to her adulthood, this woman sure knew how to make millions of people happy. Marianne Mettes, you're a multi-talented puppeteer and artist which is something to be proud of. Keep on performing with puppets and such so you'll be awed by Australians and others. You have definitely outdone yourself with every production and gig throughout your career. That's some wonderful work you've made Marianne. You're one of the professionals now Mettes!
