Indushree Raveendra
Indushree Raveendra is an Indian ventriloquist, impressionist, and experimentalist who is known for her appearances on Indian television. She was a contestant on India's Got Talent and Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and appeared as a guest on That's My Job. Indushree also performed 68 live shows on Zee Kannada with one of her puppet characters named Dinku as well as her other character Grandpa. In 2010, Raveendra even got to perform an act with a 10-feet tall puppet named Mahishasura at the festival of Dussehra. It's a shame that with all of those shows she appeared on, she never really puppeteered on the Indian co-production of Sesame Street, Gali Gali Sim Sim. She could've performed with numerous other Indian puppeteers such as Ghazel Javed, Sangya Ojha, and Babita Kurdiya Rachoya. Indushree Raveendra probably wasn't old enough to do a show like that when it first began, though she could've joined the show when she got her master's degree. On a positive note, her career won her the First Ladies Award from the President of India in 2018, and she received five records for many things, like being the first Indian female ventriloquist for example. In a way she's kind of similar to Megan Piphus, for the latter was the first black female puppeteer on Sesame Street and she's also a ventriloquist. I hope Indushree still does impressions and ventriloquism in her career, because if she does, then it's a good thing. It's not very common that you see female ventriloquists in another country like Raveendra. And even if women ventriloquists are seen in other parts of the world, they haven't met a President like this woman has in her career. Once people read about her, then maybe they'll wonder if there are other international women ventriloquists who are known to be "first" in their country. Indushree Raveendra, you've amazed everyone in India with your ventriloquist acts and your puppetry skills. Keep doing so well and maybe you'll meet a performer from Gali Gali Sim Sim one day. It might not happen, but you can never be too sure. Fantastic ventriloquism Indushree. You're a real hoot Raveendra!
