Cynthia Von Orthal

Cynthia Von Orthal is a puppeteer, puppet designer, and actress who is best known for running her own company called VonOrthal Puppets. A podcast interview stated that she also puppeteered on Curious Buddies, working alongside Frankie Cordero and David Rudman. Cynthia performed in numerous theaters in Chicago such as Victory Gardens, The Goodman Theatre, and Steppenwolf Theatre Company. When Orthal founded her company, she's been creating and performing puppets for children and adults since then. She also designs and builds large scale puppets for many companies like Redmoon, The Joffrey Ballet, CityLit Theater, and Lifeline Theatre Company. Her company also toured extensively across South and Central America from Bolivia to Machu Picchu to Guatemala, doing many shows. Cynthia Von Orthal has also acted on-screen for some television shows and films such as Roseanne, Chicago P.D., Alternate Universe: A Rescue Mission, and Diagnosis Trauma. It's a shame that she hasn't worked on any shows involving the Muppets, at least not yet. She's probably been too busy working at her company designing, building, and performing puppets for shows across Chicago. However, Cynthia did work with a few people from the Muppet realm when doing Curious Buddies, as mentioned above. Orthal's most recent projects include ballet performances of The Nutcracker and Don Quixote while other theatrical projects include The Lion and the Mouse, The Yellow Wallpaper, and Tara's Story: The Birth of the Universe. It's no wonder she's so busy in the theatre, her company's shows are a knockout to audiences of all ages. Let's hope she continues running her company. Cynthia Von Orthal, you are wonderful at your company doing all of those theatrical productions across one city and another continent. Brock Winkless

Brock Winkless was a puppeteer and visual effects technician, best known for being the puppeteer of Chucky in the Child's Play franchise and the Crypt Keeper on Tales from the Crypt. A magazine stated that he understood lip-syncing of a puppet's mouth movements which gave him the skill to puppeteer his characters to vocal tracks. Brock frequently worked with director and make-up artist Kevin Yagher on many projects, such as the Child's Play series, the Crypt Keeper, and the film Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. Winkless also collaborated with other studios for make-up and visual effects throughout his career, including Animated FX Inc., owned by Norman Tempia. Other films he puppeteered in over the years have included Death Becomes Her, Man's Best Friend, Congo, The X-Files, and Dr. Dolittle 2. Melissa King

Melissa King is an Australian puppeteer, actress, voice actress, and director who guest puppeteered on Farscape alongside other Australian puppeteers. She is known for performing with various theatres over the years in her career like Riverina Theatre Co, Belvoir St. Joining Terrapin Puppet Theatre, Blue Cow Theatre, and lots more. Melissa did more than a dozen shows both nationally and internationally which got her nominated in the best actor category for her role in The Riddle of Washpool Gully. King also got to puppeteer with kid band The Wiggles in The Wiggles Movie and series one, alongside others such as Edward Rooke, Gavin Sainsbury, Sheryl Talmage, and Larissa Deak.
