Jay Tyson
Jay Tyson is a puppeteer, filmmaker, and puppet designer/builder who only did one Muppet production, the feature film Muppets from Space as an additional performer. He is more well known for doing his own puppet projects for screen and web. Jay could have also performed on The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland as both films were shot in North Carolina at the same production facility. Tyson probably was more interested in doing his own thing and working solo most of the time. Outside, he created the puppet films Coffee Impossible, PODS, The Story of One, and many other puppet shorts, all of which can be found online. He also wrote and produced several stage plays involving puppetry like The Time Machine and a version of the classic Frankenstein. Jay Tyson also designs and builds puppets for films such as The Mill, not to mention several television pilots. Other puppet related independent films and web series he made have included Royal Follies, 99 Acre Woods, and fan parodies like Off Trek and A Leak in Time. He may have only done one Muppet film, but at least he got to work with several Muppet performers such as Eddie May, Kristina Donnelly, Rowell Gorman, Lisa Sturz, and many others. Jay is still working with puppets today as seen in some companies such as the workshop Pop Culture Puppets and the theatre troupe All Puppet Players. Tyson really knows how to work puppets as well as produce for stage, screen, and the internet, as viewers can find many of his productions online by checking out the websites and what nots. I certainly hope that he still remembers doing Muppets from Space as that's when he got to work alongside the legendary Muppet performers, even though some of the regular ones weren't available. Still, it must have been really exciting for him to do a Muppet film. Jay Tyson, you're incredible at making, performing, and producing puppets for numerous projects over the years. Keep on doing so you'll so be more popular online than ever before. Just be sure you always remember assisting the main performers on that one Muppet film. Out of sight Jay. Keep being all over the web Tyson!
