Satoshi Tsuruoka
Satoshi Tsuruoka is a Japanese voice actor and puppeteer who performed Big Bird on the Japanese co-production of Sesame Street. That was probably the only known production he puppeteered on, as all of his other projects were in the world of anime. At least Satoshi worked with other International Sesame Street performers on that show like Kaori Takeda, Hideki Tanaka, and Rena Mizushiro. Tsuruoka was probably recruited and trained by an American Sesame Street performer to work on that show, nobody really knows. Outside, his career began in the 90s with small roles in numerous anime, like Digimon for example, before gaining substantial regular roles later. Some of the regular anime shows he did include Soreike! Zukkoke Sanningumi, Fate/Zero, Big Order, and numerous others. Satoshi Tsuruoka has also dubbed for some live-action films like the X-Men movies, Eden Lake, White House Down, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He seems to be more well known as a voice actor rather than a puppeteer for he has done the former more than the latter, though I personally think he should try puppetry again soon. There is so much this voice actor contributed to the Japanese entertainment industry, but anime and dubbing will probably be his best-known qualities to the world. Satoshi may have only done one puppetry show, but at least it was for an international co-production of Sesame Street. Tsuruoka might have done some other projects in which he puppeteered, but it's just a guess, he probably never did. But no matter what it is he does, voice acting and/or dubbing is his real profession for both anime and live action as well. The best way for him to go is totally up to him. Satoshi Tsuruoka, you've done great as a Japanese version of Big Bird, and you're still doing great in the voice acting industry. If anyone should ever watch an anime or something in Japanese, hopefully they'll know your name in the credits. Until then, keep voice acting and dubbing for anything coming up in the future. Well done, Satoshi. Marvelous voice Tsuruoka!
