Falcon Mantovani
Falcon Mantovani is a Brazilian puppeteer and suit performer who is best known for playing Garibaldo on Vila Sesamo since 2018. He replaced cast member Fernando Gomes but got to work with two of the other puppeteers on that show, Neusa de Souza and Magda Crudelli. As Garibaldo, Falcon appeared on several television shows and live events, like on Melhores Anos das Nossas Vidas for example. Outside of his Garibaldo appearances, Mantovani has largely been a suit performer, like appearing as the Cookie Monster walk-around. His other outside credits include an ad, suit performing on Banda do Xaropinho and T.Rex: Um Dinossauro na Amazônia, and puppeteering on the movie Cine Cocoricó: As Aventuras na Cidade. He even got to meet an American Sesame Street performer in his career, Martin P. Robinson who trained him to puppeteer prior to getting Garibaldo. Falcon Mantovani seems to be well trained at wearing a character costume in hot weather, because it tends to get really hot in Brazil. He must've felt honored to get to work with a legendary Sesame Street performer during his training session. But then of course, there are lots of international Sesame Street performers who have been trained by the Muppet performers to operate Muppet-type puppets. Hopefully, Falcon will continue to perform Garibaldo on many appearances and such, not to mention work with the other Brazilian puppeteers. And Mantovani should be proud to have kept a Big Bird doppelganger going. He should have Robinson to thank for all of the training he gave him and making him a star. There's nothing that can stop him from performing both costumes and puppets for screen. Falcon Mantovani, you've been a fabulous Garibaldo since you inherited the role from Fernando Gomes, his original performer. Keep on making appearances and if it's possible, perform on the series itself, if the show gets revived of course. Until then, keep doing what you do best and that's performing. Excellent puppetry work Falcon. You're heating up Mantovani!
