Matthew Furtado

Matthew Furtado is a puppeteer, actor, and magician who performed on various live shows with full-bodied suits and puppetry. He started off by playing Professor Art in the 2006-2007 international live tour of Elmo's Coloring Book, a production by Sesame Street Live. Since 2008, Matthew served as a puppeteer on the stage version of Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, from understudying Tyler Bunch, to performing various characters over the years. Other puppeteers Furtado worked with on that project include David Stephens, Anney McKilligan Ozar, Jennifer Barnhart, and James Silson. He must be very proud to be a huge part of a stage show version of the classic Christmas special made by Jim Henson. In 2014, he got selected to take part in Sesame Workshop's NY puppeteer workshop, where he trained by Martin P. Robinson, Peter Linz, and Matt Vogel. Matthew Furtado also served as a puppeteer for Rob Lake Magic with Special Guests The Muppets, something I bet he was thrilled to do. He also performed with John Cody, Ben Durocher, Stoph Scheer, Sebastiano Ricci, and Noel MacNeal on that project. He is also one of those puppeteers who can do magic, performing at a wide range of venues like Mohegan Sun Casino, many American resorts, and numerous corporations. It's no wonder Matthew got selected to be one of the puppeteers on the Rob Lake show, he's a terrific magician as well. I wonder if Furtado has ever shown off his magic tricks to his co-workers over the years. If so, they should be amazed by how magical he is. And hopefully in the future, he'll get to perform a Muppet character on whatever project there is whether it's current or upcoming. Matthew Furtado, you're magnificent on stage as a magician, actor, and especially puppeteer. Keep on performing on stage and maybe someday perform on television shows rather than just television commercials. No matter whatever it is you do, people will always love you no matter what. So, get out there and be fantastic Matthew. You're a magical genius Furtado!
