Ron Wagner
Ron Wagner is a Canadian puppeteer, clown, and the ex-husband of Cheryl Wagner. He served as an additional Muppet performer on Follow That Bird and the original Fraggle Rock episode "The Thirty Minute Work Week", both with his then-wife. In the early 1970s, Ron and Cheryl formed the puppet theatre company known as the P.E.I. Puppet People, based in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Later in 1977, the Wagner couple formed the Merrytime Clown and Puppet Company, a theater company that mixes puppets, clowning, and street theater. There have been rumors saying that the company served as the inspiration to the creation process of The Big Comfy Couch. Going solo, he designed the puppets for a CBC children's series called Bixby and Me, as well as performing a clown puppet named Charlie freelance. It would appear that Ron Wagner's then-wife has way more credits than he does since she did many shows and worked at Radical Sheep Productions. During his time on Fraggle Rock and Follow That Bird, he worked with numerous puppeteers like Fransi Andersson, Brian Moffatt, Sandra Shamas, and Peter McCowatt, to name a few. His Muppet Wiki page contains some archived links and websites containing information about him, if anyone is interested in learning about him. Ron's whereabouts are currently unknown as of now, but eventually more information will come up online. Wagner seems to be into clowning around with his then-wife, which made the latter create such an iconic show for kids across Canada and America too. I wonder why he and Cheryl Wagner are no longer married, they made a terrific pair during the early 1970s to mid 1980s. They probably had other interests and decided to go their separate ways, which was best for they still were successful in their own ways. Ron Wagner, you have done great assisting on Fraggle Rock and Follow That Bird. But you're better known for clowning around with Cheryl. If you're still around, keep on giving laughter to everyone in Canada. Remember, give Cheryl Wagner credit for making your career Ron. You're a knockout Wagner!
