Malcolm Dixon

Malcolm Dixon was a British actor and suit performer who performed in two Creature Shops films; The Dark Crystal (additional performer) and Labyrinth (goblin corps). He must have been excited to work under the direction of Jim Henson for both films, with Frank Oz for the former. Malcolm's film resume began with Time Bandits where he played Strutter with Kenny Baker and Jack Purvis. Dixon also did two Star Wars films, A New Hope (a Jawa) and Return of the Jedi (an Ewok), which must have been exciting to do the original trilogy. Some of his other film credits placed him on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Flash Gordon, and Willow, to name a few. He was also one of those lucky actors to perform in music videos featuring legendary singers, in his case Duran Duran. Malcolm Dixon must have been awestruck to work alongside rock legends for not one but two music videos, one shot in 1985 and the other shot in 1989. His last known film was A Witch's Way of Love as Merlin and after the film nobody has heard from him in years. In addition to Purvis and Baker, he got to work with numerous others during the Creature Shop like Linda Spriggs, Warwick Davis, Tessa Crocket, and Kiran Shah, to name a few. Malcolm probably retired after 1997 and lived a happy life until his death in 2020. Many of Dixon's friends must have been devastated upon learning of his death. To make it worse, nobody was aware of his whereabouts after 1997 until his passing. At least his friends got to work with him many times, whether it's with the Creature Shop or not. Malcolm Dixon, you've done wonderful on Star Wars, Creature Shop, and all other films you did. Even though, you became a mystery to the public after the last film you did, it was all revealed when you died in 2020. I'm sure your friends still remember you and always will. "The force will be with you, always" Malcolm. Goodbye forever from us Dixon!
