Andrew A. Cano
Andrew A. Cano is a Mexican-American puppeteer who joined Sesame Street in 2021, inheriting the role of Ricardo (Rosita's dad) from Tyler Bunch. He made his debut performance in an online Sesame Street music video "Fathers", a spoof of the title song from the Friends series. Andrew also performs one of the newest Muppet characters, Lalo who debuted in the 54th season (previously made a cameo the previous season). Cano also served as a performer for Henson Company show Slumberkins and on Puppet Up. He even puppeteered in live musicals featuring puppetry outside of Sesame Street, such as Winnie the Pooh, Dream Carver, Unsettling, and Avenue Q, to name a few. He got to work with several Sesame Street performers such as Christopher Hayes, Stacey Gordon, Bradley Freeman Jr., and Ryan Dillon. Apparently in Season 54, Andrew A. Cano has had a bigger role since training. Personally, I think it was a great idea to recast a character to a performer of the same nationality, in other words, a Mexican Muppet to a Mexican performer. He'll probably continue to perform Ricardo and Lalo for the near future since he's only just beginning his Sesame Street career. Starting his career at the Disneyland Resort really turned Andrew into the star he is today. I'll bet Cano felt really excited when he joined the performers of Sesame Street. Other new performers such as Yinan Shentu and Leila Ghaznavi must've felt the same way he did when they joined. He has done a great job and still is today. Andrew A. Cano, you're doing good so far on Sesame Street and you also did well on Puppet Up and Slumberkins for the Henson Company. Keep up the great work as Ricardo and Lalo since you've done so well in production of the 54th season of the show. You're a real star now. Muy bien Andrew. Happy performing Cano!
