Sadie Corre

Sadie Corre was a 4'2 English actress, suit performer, and puppeteer whose first Creature Shop work has been The Dark Crystal where she was full-body performer for one of the Skeksis. She was later a cable control puppeteer on Dreamchild (the first non-Henson film that the Creature Shop did). Corre should have also worked on Labyrinth as one of the goblin corps. Then again, she would probably be too tall to wear a goblin suit, unlike dwarf, Katie Purvis. Sadie's most notable screen credit was as the smallest Transylvanian in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Personally I think she could have had a much bigger role on screen. Corre has also appeared in Return of the Jedi as an Ewok, probably the only suit performing role outside of the Creature Shop films. Most of her acting career was spent on a theatre stage, in London and touring England. It would appear that Sadie is another actress who spent most of her acting career in theatre. She worked with several English celebrities, Spike Millgan (a Muppet Show guest star) for example, and toured as Michael in Peter Pan. Corre has also been an actress in many other films such as Funny Bones, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Caravaggio, and many more. It's a shame that several of those role didn't give her credit for the productions. What's also too bad is that Sadie passed away in 2009, and she could have been remembered by the Creature Shop. It doesn't seem fair that an actress, suit performer, and puppeteer would not be remembered by the folks she's worked with. At least she got to work under the direction of Jim Henson and Frank Oz when she did perform in a Creature Shop film. I just wish she got to know the people she's worked with in that film before going her way. I mean Sadie could have got to known more about Jim or Frank before her passing, plus she also worked with Steve Whitmire, Louise Gold, and Mike Quinn, so she could have known them too before leaving. Sadie Corre, you died doing what you loved doing and that is acting for screen and theatre. I hope that someone like Quinn will remember working with you since you've both worked the same Skeksis character. You'll be remembered in my Blog so people who have read you will recognize you for your talents in acting. Rest in peace and be happy in heaven Sadie Corre!
