Katie Purvis

Katie Purvis is a dwarf actress, suit performer, and daughter of actor Jack Purvis. Katie worked with her father as one of the goblin corps in Labyrinth. It's wonderful when family members are together on a project, especially if they're together. But it is a shame that Purvis only worked in one Creature Shop production, she would have been great at other Creature Shop films. They probably have some characters that fit her perfectly. According to Katie's theatrical background, she began her career first as an infant, appearing as a background figure in an episode of Look and Read. As a teenager, Purvis began to double the dwarf characters in Time Bandits. She has also worked with her father in episode six of Star Wars as an Ewok mother. Other credits include Willow, Legend, and the UK series Raggy Dolls. Katie later doubled a child character in Sleepy Hollow, played an extra in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and had a small on-camera role as a cashier in an episode of Teachers. It seems that she is mostly doubles and plays minor characters in various films and TV shows. She is also one of the many people who have dwarfism that worked with the Creature Shop like Shari Weiser did when playing the body of Hoggle. I just wish that Katie would work in another Creature Shop project since, she's experienced in "small creature" roles, and the Creature Shop can make characters her size. If it is possible then Purvis would have another chance in her life to work with her father or by herself on a Creature Shop production. I'm just saying that one project with the Creature Shop is never enough to get to know the people you work with and eventually transition to work with the Muppets. Though there are not a lot of dwarfism puppeteers because they would be too short to keep their arms up and hold a puppet for many hours, their arms wouldn't be long enough either. Katie Purvis, I hope you've thought about working with the Creature Shop again. You seem to follow your father's footsteps from the inheritance of his dwarfism when it comes to performing on screen. I hope you keep working on screen for film and television and maybe someday get a bigger role for screen. Do your best Katie!
