Karen Maruyama is an actress, comedienne, and voice actress who was a member of The Jim Henson Company's Puppet Up - Uncensored. I don't know why she has not puppeteered in any other projects developed by Henson Alternative like The Happytime Murders or No You Shut Up. Karen must have been more interested in doing comedy than puppetry. Maruyama is a member of the Groundlings and is well known as an improv performer and instructor and a guest on Whose Line Is It Anyway?. She's probably heard of Puppet Up being an another improv group so she joined. Karen's television credits include recurring roles on The Jamie Foxx Show, Strip Mall, and Suddenly Susan, & also guest spots on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nib/Tuck, Mad About You, and Ellen (to name a few). As a voice actress, Maruyama was heard on Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys, The Simpsons, Futurama, King of the Hill, Justice League, and American Dad. I wish Henson Alternative would do an animated show, so she can lend her voice to one of the characters on that show. I've read that Karen Maruyama is also a director as she's directed two TV series once Luke 11:17 and Lovespring International. I wish she'd get into puppetry since she performed in Puppet Up improv troupe in 2007. But if Karen would rather do voice acting and comedy, than it's alright by me. I'm just suggesting Maruyama to give puppetry a try and maybe work with the greatest puppeteers like Drew Massey or Victor Yerrid. There's always room at Henson Alternative for more puppeteers or comedians. Maybe she could even direct another Henson Alternative project, whenever that is. I just think that her comedy resume could expand and maybe perform in many more Puppet Up shows or even work with the Muppets. There's always room for more people to work with the Muppets, and she should be one. Karen Maruyama, you're a swell voice actress and comedienne and weren't really bad at puppeteering for one year. I wished you'd try puppeteering again so you can work with more puppeteers than that one Puppet Up show. Other than that, your spectacular at acting and voice acting. Keep on performing on stage and on television and you might become famous for what you do and meet more voice actors. Excellent comedy job Karen!
