Damian Farrell is an Irish puppeteer, animator, and director who assisted with the Muppets, Sesame Workshop, and the Creature Shop. He served as an additional puppeteer on The Furchester Hotel in the first season and in Muppets Most Wanted. As for his Creature Shop work, he puppeteered Lore and The Heretic for the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Damian seemed to have done more principal work when he worked with the Creature Shop than he did for Sesame Workshop and the Muppets. Farrell started out as an animator in the 1990's, including a gig with director Don Bluth in two of his many films The Pebble and the Penguin and Thumbelina (as an inbetweener and doing rough breakdowns). When he shifted to puppetry, he built and performed characters voiced by impressionist Mario Rosenstock on Special 1 TV and worked on Captain Abercromby. I've read that Damian has directed scripted-comedy, puppet series, animation, hidden-camera, and documentaries, not to mention commercials. If that's so, then why doesn't Farrell ever direct for the Muppets, Sesame Workshop, or on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance? It's probably because he'll find it difficult to direct and puppeteer at the same time, like what Kevin Clash or Jim Martin do. Damian was also a creature and droid puppeteer on all of the Disney-produced Star Wars feature films, while he wore a Stormtrooper suit in Solo. I'll bet that's where he got the idea to be the main puppeteers for The Dark Crystal. He still sometimes work in animation or design, and has got his own studio called Caboom, where it's done commercials and the opening title designs for The Inspector George Gently Mysteries which is probably a film or something. Damian Farrell seems to be one of the many puppeteers to do more than just puppeteer. He has animation skills like Karen Prell and he has the directing skills like Frank Oz. I just wish Farrell would have shown his animation and directing talents to the Muppets so he can work with them in more productions. Damian Farrell, you're very skilled in puppetry and you have incredible animation and directing talents. I hope you keep on puppeteering and animating, not to mention directing. And maybe someday, you'll be an official Muppet performer too. Remain cool!
