Sue Dacre

Sue Dacre is a British puppeteer and puppet maker who is adept at numerous forms of puppetry, such as animatronics, shadow, marionettes, and more. She occasionally worked with the Jim Henson Company many times, mostly in the Creature Shop. Sue also assisted the Muppets on The Muppets Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, and Muppets Most Wanted. As for the Creature Shop, Dacre has worked on two specials of The Jim Henson Hour, puppeteered Blawp in the Lost in Space film, and helped with the making and performance of creatures for Labyrinth, just to name a few. It seems that she is more affiliated with the Creature Shop than she is with the Muppets. Her other TV work has included Dizzy Heights, Spitting Image, Wizadora, and The Spooks of Bottle Bay (replacing Louise Gold), to name a few. As for the film industry, Sue Dacre assisted Brian Henson in Return to Oz and was one of the main puppeteers on Audrey II in the film version of Little Shop of Horrors. She really does do all kinds of puppetry forms, from little rod puppets to a giant plant puppet. I've read that she is very active in the London theater world as seen in the Little Angel Theatre. Sue also made puppets for that theatre, as well as Oily Cart, Birmingham Stage Company, and several more companies. Dacre has even been a tutor at the London School of Puppetry for those that were interested. She sure is one talented woman to obtain some achievements when it comes to puppets. She is one of those great puppeteers to perform different types of puppets. Sue Dacre, I hope you keep puppeteering and doing all sorts of theatre work. You are very talented and you deserve another chance to work with the Muppets. Co-workers like Kiran Shah, Adrian Getley, and Richard Coombs, should be very proud of you.
