Rollie Krewson
Rollie Krewson is a puppet builder and puppeteer who's known for working in the Muppet Workshop building puppets for The Muppets, Sesame Street, and other Henson Company shows. Since arriving in the mid-1970s, she contributed to almost every Henson project. Rollie also performed small roles in the 1970s and 1980s on The Muppet Show (and its 2nd pilot), a Sesame Street episode, The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth. Krewson has been awarded 7 Emmy Awards based on her work on Sesame Street as well as being nominated for other Henson productions. Outside of the Muppets, Henson, and Sesame Street, she built puppets for Blue's Room and projects by Spiffy Pictures, like Jack's Big Music Show and Donkey Hodie. It's amazing how one puppet builder can contribute to a lot of projects both in and out. In addition to Sesame Street and The Muppets, Rollie Krewson did numerous Henson Company projects such as Fraggle Rock, The Animal Show, Big Bag, and The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, to name a few. Other builders she worked with have included John Lovelady, Ed Christie, Mark Zeszotek, Mary Brehmer, and more. Some of those builders she worked with had also performed characters as well (with numerous exceptions). Rollie is still building on Sesame Street to this day and has also been lead puppet builder for Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. Krewson could even be role model to many of the new builders within the workshop and are learning to construct puppets like her. She is frequently interviewed to comment on her puppet building skills, which is good because people might want to know how she does it. She may have started out as a performer for minor characters but now she's a master puppet builder. Rollie Krewson, you've been doing wonderful in the workshop since joining the Henson Company. Keep building on Sesame Street because that is what you are known for. You're literally a master builder now. Excellent job Rollie. Keep at it Krewson!
