William Todd-Jones

William Todd-Jones is a British puppeteer, writer, director, and movement consultant, known for doing various Muppet and Creature Shop productions. For the Muppets, he performed a variety of Muppets for two films, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island. For the former, William also assisted Karen Prell and Rob Tygner in performing a ghost. Todd-Jones also performed Mopatop on Mopatop's Shop for series 3 and 4 (replacing Mak Wilson), that was his only title character. His first Creature Shop project was in Labyrinth as one of the Goblin puppeteers. Other Creature Shop films have included The Adventures of Pinocchio, Lost in Space, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and that's only a couple. Outside of Muppets and Creature Shop, William Todd-Jones puppeteered on Little Shop of Horrors, The Chronicles of Narnia (BBC rendition), and What's Your News?, to name a few. I have also read that he's been involved as a patron for the London-based charity Save the Rhino International, from performing within a full-bodied rhinoceros costume. He also created an outdoor theater spectacle called Spirit of the Rhino Drum to help with the rhino charity. This extravaganza was designed, written, and directed by William for performances by different artists, including puppeteers. I had no idea that Todd-Jones was so interested in saving the rhinoceroses. He seemed to go to desperate measures of doing an all performing art extravaganza to convince people to help out. You never know whether it will work or not. William Todd-Jones, I hope you show the Muppets just what you've made out of puppeteering. You've also done pretty well performing the title character on Mopatop's Shop, keeping the character going until the finale. Your co-workers Brian Herring, Susan Beattie, and Alison McGowan should be proud. Keep on puppeteering William. And save the rhinos Todd-Jones!
