Frank Oz

Frank Oz is a puppeteer, filmmaker, and a long time partner of Jim Henson. Oz is best known as the original performer of Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Animal for The Muppets. He also performed Bert, Grover, and Cookie Monster on Sesame Street. Those are just a few of the characters Frank has played over the years. Personally, I don't know why Frank Oz would retire from being a puppeteer. He has worked on The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Muppets Tonight, and an episode of The Animal Show. I understand why Oz hated performing in body costumes, they're hot inside. I heard that Frank Oz would rather be a director than a puppeteer. For filmmaking, Frank started out producing The Great Muppet Caper before directing The Dark Crystal (with Jim Henson) and The Muppets Take Manhattan in addition to performing in them. Oz's final work with the Muppets was in a music video called We Are Family in 2002. Though he occasionally returned to perform on Sesame Street until 2012. He wrote two songs on The Muppet Show too. Outside of the Muppets and Sesame Street, Oz's only known puppetry work was performing Yoda in the Star Wars movies. He mostly was a director for films such as Little Shop of Horrors, The Indian in the Cupboard, and What About Bob, to name a few. Frank Oz, you're a great guy and the 2nd best puppeteer along with Jim Henson. Your characters will always remind me of you. So keep on directing films and be very proud of Eric Jacobson and David Rudman keeping your characters alive. You may not be a puppeteer now, but you'll always be a puppeteer to me Frank!
