Jean Marie Keevins
Jean Marie Keevins is a puppeteer, puppet builder, writer, and producer who serves as vice president for Puppet Heap, the company that currently builds the Muppets. She coordinated the puppet builds for tons of appearances and productions with them such as A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa, The Muppets (2011), Muppets Most Wanted, and more. Jean is also a three-time recipient of Jim Henson Foundation grants prior to working at Puppet Heap with her fellow co-workers. Keevins also built puppets for many shows such as Avenue Q, The Daily Show, Johnny and the Sprites, and numerous Broadway shows. She even served as a puppet wrangler for It's a Big Big World and puppet builder for Terry Factor (who has appeared with Kermit the Frog). Other than freelance work, she is both owner and operator of her own company known as Little Shadow Productions, which produced the 2015 film called The Adventures of Liverwurst Girl. That film involved Jean Marie Keevins working with several puppeteers from Sesame Street such as Elizabeth Hara (who also wrote), Martin P. Robinson (who directed), Pam Arciero, James Godwin, and Melissa Creighton. Little Shadow Productions also produced live show Aanika's Elephants which also featured writers and puppeteers from Sesame Street, like Jimmica Collins. Some of her team members also included Andrea Detwiler and Tau Bennett, which shows that besides the crew behind the Muppets, she also got to meet the Sesame Street performers and crew. Jean will probably continue to be at both Puppet Heap and Little Shadow Productions because both are where she's a master at. Keevins is definitely one of the luckiest puppet builders & performers to be chosen to coordinate the puppet builds for Muppet characters. All of that hard work should really pay off because she's been doing so much in the puppet realm for several years. I hope she'll keep in touch with everyone she worked with at Little Shadow Productions and Puppet Heap as well, it would be a shame to forget. Jean Marie Keevins, you really have the skills to both build and perform puppets. Those 2 companies you work at really showed the world what you're capable of. Keep up the great work and all. TTFN Jean. You rock Keevins!
