Swee Lim

Swee Lim is a British puppeteer who performed a Landstrider and UrNol on The Dark Crystal, paired with Hugh Spight and Robbie Barnett for the former. I wonder if he had any difficulty performing those two characters, for they both were performed in a hard way, one on stilts and the other in a hunchbacked position. Swee also performed on Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (as a Hoover) and Return to Oz, those were his only credits outside of Dark Crystal. Lim at least got to work under the direction of both Jim Henson and Frank Oz on that Creature Shop film which must have been pretty exciting for him. If only this person were to have done more productions by the Creature Shop like Labyrinth, then his resume would expand, and he would be recognized for his incredible puppetry methods. Though I'm sure it was pretty difficult for him to do those characters because Mystics had to be operated hunchbacked while a Landstrider was done with stilts. Hopefully someone will meet Swee Lim and maybe interview him so that people across the UK will know what other films he did besides those three mentioned. It probably won't happen at all, but you never can be too certain. He may not have done a lot of productions besides those three films, and I personally think it's a waste of a career to not do more. Nobody seems to know what ever happened to Swee after the 1980s, they don't even know if he's still alive today or not. Seems to me that Lim is yet another mysterious puppeteer in the world. Other Mystic performers he worked with include Simon Williamson, Toby Philpott, and David Greenaway, not to mention both Spight and Barnett mentioned above. I'm sure he'll be revealed to the public again at some point. Swee Lim, despite the limited films you did, you still did wonderful on all three of them. If you're still around, get yourself interviewed by someone so people can know more about you and what you've done in your career. It's never too late to try you know. Until then, remember your film roles Swee. You're no mystery Lim!
