Lesja Liber

Lesja Liber is a British designer who is known for working on various Creature Shop projects during the 1980s. Her projects include The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, TMNT, and The Storyteller, while for Dreamchild, she also operated creature cable controls. Lesja is also the wife of former Creature Shop vice-president and creative supervisor John Stephenson, who also assisted on Dreamchild. Liber only did two outside projects; Return to Oz and Link, the former involved Brian Henson as a voice actor for one of the characters. It's a shame she doesn't have a solo picture of herself, the one above has her in the front right with five more Creature Shop designers (including Cas Willing). At least for Dreamchild, she got to work with a few Muppet performers on the cable controls; Mike Quinn, Melissa Whitmire, and William Todd-Jones (uncredited). I wonder if Lesja Liber is still alive today for nobody has heard from her since Living with Dinosaurs finished production. Let's hope that one of the performers mentioned above still remembers her, but if not, that's totally fine since it was decades ago. And who knows, she could get acknowledged in an interview or an article that can be put on the Muppet Wiki later. Either way, Lesja should have some information about her and what other projects she's done besides Creature Shop, Return to Oz, and Link. It appears that Liber became mysterious after the 1980s era since nobody knows of her except from the Muppet Wiki since the administrators find info. Though technically it's not a mystery since her page states that she lives in England with Stephenson and kids. That must mean that she's retired or something, you never know whether that's the case or not. Lesja Liber, you've done so wonderful with the Creature Shop on all of those projects. You've also worked well with all of the other designers shown in the picture above. Keep living a quiet and peaceful life in England and never forget how much you enjoyed being an effects designer. You're magical Lesja. Great work Liber!
