Deep Roy

Deep Roy is a Kenyan-born British actor, puppeteer, and stunt man who has served as one of the many dwarf performers to be additional puppeteers on The Dark Crystal. Other performers he worked with for that film include Sadie Corre, Mike Edmonds, Jack Purvis, and Kiran Shah. Deep is well known for acting in many science fiction and fantasy films similar to how Shah and Warwick Davis work. Roy's first film was in The Pink Panther Strikes Again where he played an assassin mistaken for a child due to his size. He has since gone on to do science fiction films like Star Wars, The Never Ending Story, Flash Gordon, and Return to Oz (opposite Brian Henson). His later film credits have included collaborations with director Tim Burton. Some of the Burton films Deep Roy did include Planet of the Apes (2001), The Corpse Bride, and most notably, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As for his work on television, he did Doctor Who (as Mr. Sin) and guest starred on Blake's 7 and The X-Files. Deep is also one of the handful of actors to do roles in both the Star Trek and Doctor Who franchises since he played Keenser for the former. Roy is probably one of the greatest actors for film and television, after all, he did many films over the years of his career. He's probably going to keep acting and doing stunts for films today, or perhaps when the time comes, he'll retire from so much work. I doubt that will happen for some time because he's a highly trained and fit actor. Deep Roy, you've done wonderful in all the science fiction and fantasy films, most notably the franchises of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who. Keep on acting and doing stunts because those are the things you're an expert at. Even though you only did one film by the Creature Shop, you still got to work under the direction of both Jim Henson and Frank Oz. Swell performances you've got Deep. Don't stop until you feel ready to stop Roy!
