Emily DeCola

Emily DeCola is a puppeteer, puppet creator, director, and therapist who is known for her work with puppets. Perhaps she is well known for being one of the co-founders of the Puppet Kitchen, alongside Eric Wright and Michael Schupbach. For television, Emily performed on many shows like LazyTown, Johnny and the Sprites, Moonfishing, and Katalog, to name a few. As for theatre, DeCola has done a whole lot of theatrical productions such as The Tempest, Carrie, HATS! The Musical, and more. In the past, she received several grants, including one from the Jim Henson Foundation. She may not have actually worked with Sesame Street, but she has worked with many performers who have, including the co-founders of the Puppet Kitchen. Some of the performers Emily DeCola worked with include David Matthew Feldman, Julie Westwood, and Jodi Eichelberger. In later years, she went on to do social work such as therapy, but she still works with the Puppet Kitchen for many productions. She is one of the many puppeteers to also do social work (at least I think she is). Hopefully in the future, Emily will do a Sesame Street or Henson Company project, you never know when she'll be called on to assist. DeCola will probably continue to do social work as well as be a part of the Puppet Kitchen for years to come, or at least for a little while longer. She should also get interviewed and asked what sort of projects she has directed too. If people say she is also a director, then she should have a resume of her credits, it's not enough to say it without proof of it. Emily DeCola, you've done wonderful creating and performing puppets for both theatre and television all over the world. You are also a good influence when it comes to social work in your secondary career. Keep up the great work in both paths, and always remember that the Puppet Kitchen was your big break. Until then, swell performance Emily. Peace DeCola!
