Shelley Duvall
Shelley Duvall is an actress, writer, and producer who is best known for acting in several films, most notably Popeye and The Shining. I read on the Muppet Wiki that she visited the set of The Muppet Show at Elstree Studios during filming of The Shining (it was also filmed there). During that visit, Shelley played a background Muppet in the Spike Milligan episode. I should say Duvall must be pretty lucky to do a Muppet in that episode since the main ones needed more to help out. Muppet Wiki states Richard Hunt made acquaintance of the cast members from The Shining, and it was probably him who invited them over. For those who reading this post, you'll have to look on her page on the Muppet Wiki to see the sources. Later, Shelley Duvall received an interview for Muppet Magazine in the Summer 1986 issue. Other than The Shining, she acted in many films such as Frankenweenie, Roxanne, Time Bandits, and The Portrait of a Lady, to name a few. She later went into writing and producing several projects such as Popples, Faerie Tale Theatre, Shelley Duvall's Bedtime Stories, and more. Shelley has not acted at all since 2002 and was even given rumors about being a "recluse" until 2010 when she was interviewed with proof that she's normal. Duvall returned to acting in the 2023 film The Forest Hills, which was her first film in 20 years, that's like two whole decades. It's a shame she never did puppetry again after that one instance on The Muppet Show. She must have done that background Muppet so well but probably had difficulty keeping her arm up in the air for several hours. Shelley Duvall, you're so lucky to be put in a Muppet Puppeteer category on the Wiki. And thank goodness you came out of hiding or those rumors about you would have gotten worse than they did. When you're gone, you'll be remembered for acting, writing, and producing, numerous stuff. Well done Shelley. Peace Duvall!
