Irit Shilo

Irit Shilo is an Israeli puppeteer and actress who performed Dafi in Rechov Sumsum--Shara'a Simsim, the Israeli/Palestinian co-production of Sesame Street. She performed alongside Guy Friedman, Rajai Sandouka, Fadi al-Ghoul, and Gilles Ben-David. Irit should be lucky to have worked with such fine puppeteers for many years on that production, well from 1998-2002 to be exact. Shilo has also done a chicken named Urza on an Israeli children's show called Parpar Nehman. Besides puppets, she acted on-camera in a supporting role in the independent film Out of Sight where she played Tirza. In addition she is also a prolific dub actress, voicing Zibadi in The Wizard of Oz anime series and several roles in The Littl' Bits. Other than the Wiki page, Irit Shilo doesn't seem to have a lot of info about herself on other sites besides the Muppet Wiki. She does have a Twitter account though as it says on the internet, but there's only one post and that was posted back in 2013. Nobody seems to know what happened to her after 2013 since there is hardly more websites that contained info about her. I only hope Irit is still alive today, otherwise the mystery of what happened to her would be solved. But apparently Shilo has not died yet for her page on the Muppet Wiki says "is" not "was". Let's just hope before she dies, she will be interviewed for a radio, television, or podcast show so people will know more about her. It may not happen yet, but soon that day will come for her big chance to come out of hiding. Irit Shilo, you've done wonderful on Rechov Sumsum--Shara'a Simsim as well as being Urza. I hope that you'll reveal yourself to the public again soon and maybe reprise your role of Urza. Until then, be happy and healthy so that you may run into an old puppeteer friend. Stupendous performance Irit. Shalom to you Shilo!
