Catrina Quintanilla

Catrina Quintanilla is a trained dancer, opera singer, writer, producer, and burlesque performer who was recently accepted into puppeteer training with The Jim Henson Company. Afterwards she served as one of the additional puppeteers on Slumberkins and the Biutyful video by Coldplay. Besides that, Catrina has been singing and dancing on stage since she was only 4 while on Bill Edward's On Stage, a touring variety show. Growing up, Quintanilla studied dancing with Patsy Swayze's Dancer's Studio in specials by Disney/ABC, trained to be an operatic soprano, and starred in dozens of musicals. Some highlights in the musicals include West Side Story, Peter Pan, Anything Goes, and more; which is something that I find very impressive. Other puppeteers she worked with Henson Company include Jack Venturo, Sarah Sarang Oh, Nicolette Santino, and Andrew A. Cano. In addition to performing, Catrina Quintanilla also works as an educator teaching at high schools, universities, and dance studios. Eventually she created her own company called CatrinaQ Performing Arts in 2009 which dedicates itself to all levels of talent in dance and performance. I only hope that she'll work in future Henson Company projects since she did so well in those two recent projects mentioned above. Caterina currently acts as a Teaching Artist for The Orlando Repertory Theatre, as it states on her website. Quintanilla should perform in a project involving the Muppets soon since several performers of Slumberkins performed/assisted them. As long as she is still singing, dancing, and/or puppeteering, she will have her page on the Muppet Wiki before we know it. She just has to keep her site updated. Caterina Quintanilla, you're a very talented young woman and you were great in that interview with Grant Baciocco. Keep on performing and running your company so people will become your little students. And until you do another production by the Henson Company, practice doing puppetry. You've got this Catrina. You're like a queen Quintanilla!
