Jimmica Collins
Jimmica Collins is a puppeteer and actress who has been a Muppet performer on Sesame Street since its 53rd season. In her debut season, she was cast as Grandma Nell and has performed her since. I've read that Jimmica has always dreamed of working on Sesame Street and that dream came true when she trained with Matt Vogel, Martin P. Robinson, and Peter Linz at Sesame Workshop in 2021. Outside of Sesame Street, Collins has puppeteered in several theater shows such as Harold and the Purple Crayon, Space! The Musical, and at the Center for Puppetry Arts, just to name a few. As for her TV work, she puppeteered on Helpsters, Donkey Hodie, Wondermore, and more. She also briefly worked with the Henson Company on Puppet Up where she was trained by Brian Henson and others. Jimmica Collins has been experienced with puppet projects designed for both kids and adults. I've read she also worked in many departments as Teaching Artist, Assistant Director, and Associate Producer, all happened in recent years. She's must feel pretty lucky to be a current member of the Sesame Street family, alongside Latoryah Alexander. I personally find the name Jimmica to be extremely unique which is why I'm proud to have this post about her. In addition to Latoryah Alexander, Collins has also been paired with Megan Piphus and Bradley Freeman Jr. which makes up Tamir and Gabrielle's family. She's probably gonna keep on performing Grandma Nell on the show. And who knows, maybe she'll get to do other minor characters too in future seasons. Jimmica Collins, you've got the talents and puppet skills to be a part of the Sesame Street family. Being the performer of Grandma Nell must fit you perfectly based on how you act. Good luck with any future projects. You've got this Jimmica. You'll be fine Collins!
