Sharon Baird

Sharon Baird is an actress, puppeteer, voice actress, suit performer, singer, and dancer who is known for being one of the Mouseketeers in The Mickey Mouse Club. On The Mickey Mouse Club, she did many forms of dancing such as tap, as well as singing and acting for the whole program. In the 1970s, Sharon has worked as a puppeteer for Sid and Marty Krofft, among others, doing shows such as H.R. Pufnstuf, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, and Land of the Lost, just to name a few. In the 1980s, Baird was a suit performer on Welcome to Pooh Corner and Dumbo's Circus, the latter featured John Lovelady and Paul Fusco. I've read that between 1964-1969, she married a singer, and, with the singer's friend, performed a nightclub act called Two Cats and a Mouse. It's amazing how one woman can act, sing, dance, voice act, and do puppetry over the years. Sharon Baird got to work alongside other performers such as Patty Maloney, Van Snowden, and Phil Baron who all worked on shows featuring puppetry. She still appears in many Mouseketeer reunions and appeared at Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Event in 2005. I wonder what Sharon is doing now since she's semi-retired. IMDb states that Baird appeared in Mickey's 90th Spectacular and on a 2022 podcast as herself, which was where she was last seen. I hope she's totally retired now since she's been acting since she was only a child. If so, she deserves a good rest from all the hard work she's done for decades. Sharon Baird, you were great as a Mouseketeer and you've done a show featuring a Muppet performer, Lovelady to be exact. I hope you'll rest up and remember all of the fun times you've had on TV. You make Mickey Mouse appear so special, and that's what makes you a great Mouseketeer. Now go and take a well deserved rest Sharon. You've definitely earned it Baird!
