Peter Norgaard

Peter Norgaard is a Danish puppeteer, ventriloquist, and magician who served as assistant puppeteer for Elmo on Sesamgade, the Danish co-production of Sesame Street. He only assisted Thomas Roos for the first 13 episodes before Martin Saelan took over. It's a shame Sesamgade wasn't a full co-production in Denmark and there hasn't been one since 2020. Peter was more popular outside of Sesamgade, working alongside Carolina Lybeck in creating various shows for people of all ages that they toured with across Denmark for many events. Norgaard has also played Nicky in the Danish adaption of Avenue Q in 2011 and even participated in Denmark Got Talent in 2015 (he didn't win though). I wonder which talents he did on Denmark Got Talent, either performing ventriloquism or magic. I've read that after Denmark Got Talent 2015, he was invited to Las Vegas to perform with ventriloquist, impressionist, and singer Terry Factor, the winner of America's Got Talent. Based on the picture above, Peter Norgaard has performed ventriloquism on a puppet made by Steve Axtell of Axtell Expressions and probably did more. But still there should have been other characters on Sesamgade, meaning more performers. He must be one of the few puppeteers to also do magic, if Steve Axtell's acts count. I just hope Peter will have a chance to perform in a new Danish co-production of Sesame Street, if there will be one. The chance for Norgaard to train with a Muppet performer will come soon. Who knows what he's doing right now? He's probably still performing in Las Vegas today. Peter Norgaard, even though you worked on a short international co-production of Sesame Street, you're still considered a wonderful performer by me. I hope you will keep doing shows for kids and adults across Denmark and in Las Vegas. Maybe consider getting contact with Terry Factor and perform an act together. The decision depends on you Peter. Splendid Norgaard!
