Marta Mozelle MacRostie

Marta Mozelle MacRostie is a puppeteer, builder, clown, and theatre artist who has assisted on Sesame Street during its 45th season. I don't know why she only worked on Sesame Street for one season, she would've been great performing her own characters. Marta has designed and built puppets for various stage shows throughout the years like Silver Wings, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, and the Puppet Kitchen for the San Diego Zoo. MacRostie has also been a performer for TV shows like Time Machine Guitar, The Warby Trace Show, and a couple of commercials, while her stage credits are more vast. I've read that she studied with many puppeteers at the O'Neill such as Paul Zaloom, Tim Lagasse, Ronnie Burkett, and more. She was also a jazz singer at UMass, fronting two jazz bands that still run. There's nothing in the world that Marta Mozelle MacRostie can't do. She's also famous for working with many puppet companies, most notably, the Puppet Kitchen (alongside Michael Schupbach & Eric Wright) as one of the main crew members. I'm going to assume that one of the puppeteers she studied with gave her an invitation to assist the main performers on the 45th season of Sesame Street. Even so, Marta was probably happier doing freelance work in the theatre and in workshops. I only wish MacRostie is still remembering how much of an honor it was to assist the performers on Sesame Street, even if it was for just on season. She's probably still designing, building, and performing puppets for the theatre currently and who knows, maybe for the near future. Marta Mozelle MacRostie, you're wonderful when it comes to working with puppets in the theatre and on television too. I hope you'll keep working with puppets and maybe someday go back and visit Sesame Street. You never know when you might get invited back for a visit. Until then, never stop doing what you do best Marta. Have confidence in you MacRostie!
