Ken Haines

Ken Haines is a puppeteer, author, and actor who only worked with the Muppets once as an additional performer in The Muppets Christmas Carol. I don't know why he hasn't served as an additional Muppet performer for other UK Muppet projects such as Muppet Treasure Island or Muppets Most Wanted. Ken is more well known for his outside work for he founded On the Other Hand Theatre in 1985. Haines & his company have put on puppet shows across the UK and Europe for both kids and adults, and they're probably still doing it today. His television credits include BBC children's series Storytime, Words and Pictures, Music Makers, Palace Hill, and Breakfast Serials. Did he puppeteer in all of those series or act on-screen for those? I've read that Ken Haines even co-authored a book entitled The Usborne Book of Puppets, which shows how to make puppets with inexpensive materials. I wonder if he still has memory of the Muppet performers such as Jerry Nelson, Steve Whitmire, or Frank Oz. You never know when at least two puppeteers who worked together run into each other. I only wish Ken would someday work in another Muppet project that would take place in the UK. At least Haines has been busy running On the Other Hand Theatre and doing lots of productions involving puppetry or his talented acting. Maybe one day he'll run into a Muppet performer when he has free time from his career. After all the people behind the Muppets tend to get together a lot. Ken Haines, despite only doing one Muppet project, you're still considered well known by your other puppet productions. Keep up the great work at On the Other Hand Theatre and before you know it, you'll be recognized by over a million people. That is something I am sure will happen to you. Tremendous work in the theatre Ken. You've got so much talent Haines!
