Cary Antebi

Cary Antebi is a puppeteer, puppet builder, and writer who only puppeteered with the Muppets once; on The Great Santa Claus Switch. He was surrounded by other people who puppeteered in that one special such as Marilyn Sokol, Greg Antonacci, and John Byrum. Cary should have done other Muppet projects in the early 1970s like some of the other performers he worked with. Antebi has also performed outside with Bil Baird on his two Off-Broadway shows The Whistling Wizard and the Sultan of Tuffet and Ali Baba and His 40 Thieves. He is perhaps best known for building and performing the puppet characters Sherlock and Flapper on a children's series called The Magic Garden. He also did the same for puppet character Rags on The Patchwork Family where he also displayed his writing talents. Cary Antebi has done a lot of work in the early 1970s but it's unknown if he ever performed in future years or if he's still performing today. What ever happened to him after 1972 when he was last seen? Maybe somebody will be able to find him someday and give him an interview on why he vanished from society. My only hope for Cary is that he'd still be alive and tries to remember The Magic Garden or working in that Muppet special. Well at least Antebi got interviewed on a talk show back in 1972 before he became mysterious for many people. It's becoming common that many puppeteers keep disappearing from society after a specific year, or maybe they just take a break. Cary Antebi, despite only performing for three years, you are still considered a member of this blog. I only wish that you would get interviewed again and reveal what you were doing after 1972. And maybe someday catch up on things with an old friend who you've worked with. But it's just a suggestion, not an order Cary. At least give it a big think Antebi!
