Ron Stefaniuk

Ron Stefaniuk is a Canadian puppeteer, special effects creator, comedian, and designer, best known for his work within the horror genre. His best known work was on Goosebumps where he created all the creatures in all the episodes and was the performer of Slappy the Dummy. Ron has also worked within Bride of Chucky, Howls, and The Love Guru, just to name a few. Stefaniuk has even worked for two children shows; The Big Comfy Couch (as an art director) and The Doodlebops (as a puppeteer, puppet designer, and art director). I am going to assume that he is more of a horror type man than a children one. He has his own creature studio entitled Stefaniuk FX Studio, responsible for Goosebumps and other films and TV series. Ron Stefaniuk got to work with other puppeteers like Frank Meschkuleit, Fred Stinson, and Jason Hopley, just to name a few. When it comes to being either a makeup artist or puppeteer, he definitely knows how to make things look so realistic and occasionally more children friendly. It's a shame though that he never worked in any projects starring the Muppets, not even their latest special Muppets Haunted Mansion. Maybe because Ron might scare Muppet fans by his own creations from Stefaniuk FX Studio. At least Stefaniuk still worked alongside puppeteers that have worked with the Muppets and Creature Shop (something he would be good for). It pleases me to know that he's still working on screen today as some of his recent works include Endlings and La Switch, both of which he was production designer. Ron Stefaniuk, you're probably one of the best puppeteers to work within the horror genre. There wouldn't be any Goosebumps if you never made those realistic creatures and do Slappy. I hope that you'll also keep alternating with other genres so that in the future, you won't be feared by any Muppet performers. Jeepers creepers Ron. Great Stefaniuk!
