Robin Reed

Robin Reed was a puppeteer who only worked with the Muppets on a 1962 pilot Tales of the Tinkerdee, a project that ended up unaired. Pity he only did one Muppet project, he would have been great working alongside the Muppet performers after that pilot. Robin stated that he met Jim Henson while he doing a production of Pinocchio at a Detroit puppeteer's convention. Reed was invited to continue working with the Muppets after Tinkerdee, but he was too busy with his own commitments. However he did want to rejoin Henson afterwards, but alas, by the time he was finished, Henson told him there was no room for him anymore. But even though he couldn't work on any more Muppet projects, he did state that Henson gave him some help in finding other jobs. That's something Robin Reed should be grateful for since he received his own stardom on producing puppet shows from 1955-1999 alongside his wife and son. I've read that his puppetry career began in 1950 where he worked with his brother and parents on shows like a production of The Wizard of Oz. But by the time it was 1999, he stopped doing puppet shows and no one knew what he did or why he stopped since then. Robin also had his own workshop for marionettes, Reed Marionettes, and it probably closed down in 1999 as well. Reed should have been interviewed and questioned on what he has done after 1999 while he was still alive at that time. He passed away in 2019 and the mystery on his whereabouts between 1999 to his death remain unknown to me. Robin Reed, it seems that Henson was a close friend of yours since he did help you find your job. I hope you will run into him while you're in heaven and maybe catch up on things. Your widow and son must be thinking about you and all the fun times you all had. Rest in peace Robin. Say hello to Henson up there Reed!
