Greg Antonacci

Greg Antonacci was a director, producer, and actor who started his career as a puppeteer on the 1970 Christmas special The Great Santa Claus Switch with the Muppets. I've read that he was assigned to perform the Frackle Gloat according to Jim Henson's notes. That must have been the first time Greg has ever done a television project in his career and the only time he performed a Muppet. In the later years, Antonacci both wrote and starred in a short-lived play called Dance With Me before going into TV. He was a regular on the seventies sitcoms Busting Loose and Makin' It. He also guest starred on many TV shows like The Rockford Files, Laverne & Shirley, and Soap. I think that Greg Antonacci found his own job after working as a Muppet performer for 1 special. Later, he gained recurring roles on HBO dramas The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire (which was probably his last show). He has also wrote for various sitcoms and cartoon shows and directed/produced episodes of Perfect Strangers and Herman's Head in which he got his directing credit. Sadly, Greg's career came to an end because he passed away in 2017, but it is unknown how he died. At least Antonacci did a wonderful job working on television; both animation and live-action. I just hope that he remembered how the Muppets made him the man he was before his death and that he'll meet the dead Muppet performers in heaven. Either way, he was still a great man and knows how to put things together. Greg Antonacci, you may have only done 1 Muppet project but you're still considered famous for making sitcoms and dramas. Those two genres won't be the same without you. Just remember that you'll always be known for what you have done and that you'll never be forgotten by your co-workers. Well done Greg. Rest in peace Antonacci!
