Todd Duffey
Todd Duffey is an actor, puppeteer, and voice actor who is perhaps known for acting in many television shows and films. His notable projects include Across Five Aprils, Office Space, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Todd also performed Scooter McNutty on Barney & Friends from 1997 to 2001. Duffey got to work alongside Brice Armstrong and Earl Fisher within the series, but, like Armstrong, he probably had difficulties performing a puppet as he had no experience. The puppets on Barney & Friends were built by 3/Design Studio and he was also trained by James Kroupa to perform a puppet. I bet he likes acting more than doing puppetry because he had to crouch or lie down to puppeteer. At least Todd Duffey had a chance to work with a Muppet performer before he went back to acting on television and film. So far he has only voice acted in two series, Astrid Strudelman: The Unicorn Whisperer and Prank Boy (as the title character). I don't know why the puppeteers on Barney & Friends don't guest star on Sesame Street where Kroupa occasionally performed on. I think Todd would make people crack up if he guest starred with the Muppets, if they ever film in Texas where he lives. Recently, Duffey has acted in two projects; Love and Baseball and On the Verge. From Chotchkie's Waiter to Scooter McNutty, he is an expert on making adults and children very happy and full of laughter. Let's hope he'll still act on screen today, and maybe someday, give puppetry another chance. Todd Duffey, you are excellent at acting and not so bad at puppetry when doing Scooter McNutty on Barney. I hope that when you decide to retire, you'll think about all of those great shows you have worked on over the years. You may not have worked on Sesame Street, but you technically met a Muppet performer. Great performing Todd. Fantastic gig Duffey!
