Alan Semok

Alan Semok was a ventriloquist, puppeteer, puppet builder, and pianist who is yet another person who hasn't worked or even guest starred with the Muppets or Sesame Street. He was perhaps best known for being a freelance ventriloquist performing characters for many shows and puppeteering with Flexitoon during the 90's. Alan got to work alongside Olga Felgemacher, Craig Marin, and Jonathan Freeman on KIDS-TV and Shining Time Station. On the latter, Semok mainly assisted Peter Baird in puppeteering Grace for the first season before replacing Wayne White as Tex while Kenny Miele took over assisting Baird. He has also acted on-screen in many films such as Savage Faith, The Dummy, and A Stand Up Guy, to name a few. Though I wonder if he's scared of heights since he never did marionettes while at Flexitoon. Personally, I think that Alan Semok would have been great performing or guest starring with the Muppets or Sesame Street since they had many ventriloquists guest star. He has also designed and built ventriloquist dummies for films such as The Ventriloquist. Sadly, he never got a chance to perform on Sesame Street or with the Muppets as he died in 2019. I would have thought Alan would have been a great Muppet performer like Olga or a Sesame actor like Jonathan. Even so, Semok has his own dreams of making millions of people happy and giving them the greatest gift of all, laughter. He is yet another ventriloquist I know died, others including Shari Lewis and Edgar Bergan. Let's just hope the Flexitoon team isn't too saddened over his death. Alan Semok, you had lived a marvelous life performing with the Flexitoon team and in many films and stage performances. I hope you'll be remembered for all of the wonderful things you've done by your fans. Flexitoon wouldn't have a jukebox band without you. You'll always be considered part of the puppeteer blog family by me Alan. Rest in peace Semok!
