Russ Walko

Russ Walko is a puppeteer and puppet builder who has served as a puppet builder/performer for various projects by the Henson Company. He also worked on The Muppets (2015) as an uncredited performer and builder for almost all of the sixteen episodes. Russ has mainly worked with the Henson Company on many projects like The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Happytime Murders, Earth to Ned, Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, and Slumberkins. Walko is probably more famous for his work outside of both the Henson Company and Muppets. His puppet building and performing techniques are seen on The Simpsons, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Waffles + Mochi, and The Remember Hour, to name a few. Appears he is more active as a puppet builder than a puppeteer. Russ Walko is also the owner of his own puppet company called Puppet Garage, which made puppets for shows I don't know about. His latest outside work has been on the Nickelodeon show The Barbarian and the Troll, in which he served as the lead puppet builder for many characters. Some of the people he got to work with include Patrick Johnson, Sean Johnson, Colleen Smith, and Drew Massey. I wonder if Russ ever wished he could be a Muppet performer too. Walko got to work with the Muppets for that one series, and also for their latest series The Muppets Mayhem. From Puppet Garage to Swazzle, he's one of the master puppet builders around the world, as seen on stage and television and film. I hope he keeps on building and performing puppets for years to come. Russ Walko, you're literally a master a puppets, yet you've only done two Muppet projects. I think you should become a Muppet performer by working on another Muppet project as a character of your very own. Until that day comes, keep up the fantastic work and before you know it, you'll be famous. Excellent puppet job Russ. You're the man Walko!
