Catherine Coste
Catherine Coste is a French actress, puppeteer, and writer who performed Trepido the snail within the French co-production of Sesame Street, 1, Rue Sesame. I don't know why she has only performed one character for an international Sesame Street project. Catherine should have worked on other French projects involving some puppetry. Coste started acting as a juvenile in the 1960s and continuing into ingenue roles in the 70's. She has appeared in TV movies and episodes of two French shows called Le voyageur de siecles and La ligne de demarcation. Catherine Coste also had a supporting role in 1981's Dr. Jekyll and His Woman portraying a woman named Mrs. Enfield. I wonder what ever happened to her between 1982 and 2002, the year she became a writer and wrote a book entitled La Scripte. But at least she wasn't the only French puppeteer on 1, Rue Sesame. Catherine was paired with both Lucien Morisse and Georges Mosca. Coste could have worked on 5, Rue Sesame alongside Yves Brunier, but she was probably more comfortable doing what does now and that's write. I wonder if her book can be found in libraries across France. If she's still alive today, I hope she remembers how much fun she had working on an international co-production of Sesame Street. Catherine Coste, you may have only done one puppet character on one show, but you're still considered a puppeteer by me. I hope that you keep doing whatever it is you are doing now, or perhaps you're retired since you've last been heard in 2002 which was about several years ago. Take a much needed rest Catherine. I bid you au revoir Coste!
