Peter Baird
Peter Baird was a puppeteer, writer, and the son of legendary puppeteer Bil Baird who has only worked with the Muppets once. He served as an additional Muppet performer on The Muppets Take Manhattan, though he was uncredited for the film. After production of the film, Peter was one of the performers for Mount Rushmore in a few unaired segments for 60 Minutes. Baird could have done way more Muppet projects when he was still alive. But I guess he would rather do what he would rather perform which was with Flexitoon and other freelance work. Outside of Muppets, he has puppeteered on various other projects. Peter Baird's most notable show was on Shining Time Station where he performed with Olga Felgemacher, Jonathan Freeman, Kenny Miele, and Craig Marin as the Jukebox Band. I think he also assisted on KIDS-TV (another show by Flexitoon), but was uncredited. His other work was mainly in films such as Howard the Duck, Howling III, and Red Pepper, to name a few. I still think Peter should have worked with the Muppets on more projects but I guess he chose to follow his father's footsteps and perform marionettes for screen. Baird had also wrote for a video he performed in called Davy Jones' Locker which must be unknown to the public for right now. His final film was in Team America: World Police (uncredited) for he died in 2004 after production of the film wrapped. At least he reunited with his father in heaven since his dad died in 1987; I just hope Flexitoon is still remembering him today since he puppeteered Grace of the Jukebox Band. Peter Baird, you lived a good life, but you didn't do a lot with the Muppets when you were alive. It may be too late now, but at least you've made a friend who once worked on Sesame Street and more who haven't done Sesame Street. You will always be known by me on the post, though it might be hard for some readers to understand who you are and what you've done. Besides that, I hope you're still watching in heaven Peter. Rest in peace Baird!
