Josh Elwell

Josh Elwell is a British puppeteer, actor, and director who performed in a Muppet film, as well as many Henson Company projects over the years. He was an uncredited additional UK performer for Muppets Most Wanted and performed on Pajanimals, That Puppet Game Show, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Josh started acting on Letty at age 13 before getting puppetry lessons from Nigel Plaskitt, glove puppeteer Martin Bridle, and a man named Nutza Dolakidze. I read that Elwell also served as an associate director for Forest Forge Theatre Company. Outside of the Henson Company, he puppeteered on ZingZillas, Big City Park, and Strange Hill High, to name a few. I wish he would be considered a Muppet performer since Pajanimals was a Henson Company show, even though it was non-Muppet, it still counts. Personally, I think Josh Elwell should have puppeteered on The Furchester Hotel because Pajanimals was a kid show too. I read he also ran his own Arts Council funded puppet company called Wild Wood Theatre where he did tours throughout the UK and abroad. Before puppetry, he was mostly a TV and stage actor throughout his teenage years and it was not until adulthood that he became a TV and film puppeteer. Josh's recent puppetry credits include Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, The Makery, and Truelove, to name a few. Elwell has worked with many other puppeteers such as Lesa Gillespie, Paul Currie, Alana Kerr, and Charlotte Duberry, to name a few. He'll probably continue to puppeteer for the near future since he's been doing many upcoming productions lately. It's a pity that he's not considered a Muppet performer by the Muppet Wiki, at least not yet. Josh Elwell, you've done great with the Henson Company as well as on those other outside stuff. Keep on puppeteering because it's what you do best, after acting. Don't stop until you want to. Until then, excellent work Josh. You've got talent Elwell!
