Alana Kerr is a Northern-Irish puppeteer, actress, and mezzo soprano who performs Claribelle and the Weatherberries on the Northern Ireland co-production of Sesame Street, Sesame Tree. She said that she had no training as a puppeteer before the series. Alana had to chance to work alongside Irish puppeteers like Paul Currie, Lesa Gillespie, and Helen Sloan, to name a few. Too bad Kerr didn't have any puppetry experience before the show was filmed. It's also too bad she didn't puppeteer on any other shows after Sesame Tree, except for an episode of Big City Park. Other shows she did include Emu, Rachel 9000, Aussie Go Round, and more. I read that Alana Kerr was a member of both National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and National Youth Music Theatre of Great Britain. I have also read that she's the Founder of the Belfast Actors' Studio, making her another puppeteer to have their own theatre studio. Personally, I think she should have assisted on Muppets Most Wanted or The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance when she had the chance. But I guess Alana felt like she didn't have enough puppet experience to be Muppet performer. Kerr must be more comfortable with singing and acting rather than puppeteering. At least she has a beautiful voice when it comes to being the mezzo soprano. But you never know when she'll puppeteer again on a Sesame Workshop related project, but if not, then maybe she'll appear as herself on a different production and perform a little opera piece. Alana Kerr, you did wonderful on Sesame Tree and you're still doing wonderful as an actress, as seen on an episode of Hope Street. Keep up the great singing career as well since you're one of those puppeteers who can sing opera too like a couple others. Always remember how much fun you had as Claribelle on Sesame Tree. Until you reunite with a performer from that show again, keep on working Alana. You've got some beautiful notes Kerr!
