Laura Bacon

Laura Bacon is a British puppeteer and performer whose only work with the Henson Company was in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, as an additional puppeteer. I've read on Twitter that she has also trained in puppeteering at Sesame Workshop and learned alongside veteran puppeteers. If Laura trained at Sesame Workshop, how come she didn't audition for Sesame Street too? Bacon was probably more interested in puppetry for comedy and adults. Outside of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, she is best known for performing Patsy May, performing her on Britain's Got Talent in 2014, and in her very own 90-minute live theatre show called An Evening with Patsy May'. I didn't think she had the guts to perform one puppet for two hours. Laura Bacon also puppeteered in a London production of Avenue Q before Britain's Got Talent before doing various jobs, such as Panto, live cabaret acts, and jobs for many companies. Some of those companies include ITV, Lucasfilm, Henson (hence The Dark Crystal) and even some in the Netherlands and Germany. If she can puppeteer in all of those jobs, then she should perform with the Muppets. I've read that Laura watched Sesame Street as a kid and her very favorite puppeteer is Frank Oz. Bacon has also performed various other puppet characters such as a numerous women, Mavis the Fox, a chicken, and a Canada goose. Personally I believe Patsy May looks like either a Whatnot or an Anything Muppet. Other puppeteers she performed with include Josh Elwell, Helena Smee, Marcus Clarke, and William Banyard, to name a few. Laura Bacon, you're a wonderful puppeteer for adults and you really brought to life Patsy May. I hope you'll do another Henson Company project in the future, but otherwise you're really humorous when it comes to entertainment. Until then, keep on doing Patsy May and other puppet characters. Excellent performing Laura. You're a hoot Bacon!
