Jane Henson

Jane Henson was a puppeteer and the wife/widow of famous puppeteer Jim Henson. As a puppeteer, she was Jim Henson's first puppeteering partner. She puppeteered with Jim on the show Sam & Friends and they eventually married. Jane also served as a background/occasional puppeteer for both Sesame Street and the Muppets. I don't understand why Henson never supplied voices to her characters. The exception was in a Sesame Street song called "Women Can Be". I've read that her last known puppetry work was on the 3rd episode of The Muppet Show. She must have spent all her time taking care of her kids before Jim passed away. Ever since her husband's death, Jane Henson served as the founder of the Jim Henson Legacy and president of The Jane Henson Foundation. She also created a Nativity Story which featured other puppeteers even I don't know. Sadly Jane died in April 2013 and the film Muppets Most Wanted was dedicated to her and Jerry Nelson. I'll bet Henson's kids must have been down to have both parents in heaven now. If it's possible, she would probably be with her husband again in heaven. She would've got to known more about the people who met Jim Henson. Jane Henson, you're a mysterious & popular woman and I hope you're doing well with Jim Henson in the great beyond. You may not have done a lot of puppetry in the 1980's, 1990's, and 2000's, but you'll always be the first puppeteer to work alongside Jim Henson, your husband. You should be proud of your son Brian Henson and daughters for keeping the company alive. Rest in peace and reunite with your husband in heaven. I bid you farewell Jane!
