David Rudman

David Rudman is a puppeteer, puppet designer, and filmmaker who is best known for performing many characters for the Muppets and Sesame Street. For Sesame Street, his most notable characters are Baby Bear and Cookie Monster, taking over the latter role from Frank Oz since 2001. As for the Muppets, David currently performs Scooter, Janice, and Beaker, the former two since 2008 and latter one since 2017. Rudman started out as a builder in the Muppet Workshop and was trained by Richard Hunt. Some of his first projects with the Muppets include The Muppets Take Manhattan and Little Muppet Monsters (as Boo Monster). He worked on Sesame Street since season 17 and took over some of Hunt's roles when he died, such as Two-Headed Monster (right half). In addition to both, David Rudman also did Henson shows CityKids, Dog City, and the film Labyrinth. Outside of Sesame Street and the Muppets, he runs his own production company called Spiffy Pictures with his brother Adam Rudman. It produced several children series such as Jack's Big Music Show, Bunnytown, Curious Buddies, Nature Cat, and recently, Donkey Hodie. David also wrote and directed many live-action films and cartoons on Sesame Street and other television networks. Rudman has even performed in television commercials, his most notable ones were the Ziploc bag ones for some time. Over the years with Sesame Street and Muppets, he was paired with Camille Bonora, Martin P. Robinson, and Joey Mazzarino. He's one of the people to receive a variety of Emmy Award nominations for his outstanding work. David Rudman, from finger-rod puppets to fuzzy monsters you've done it all. Keep up the good job with both the Muppets and Sesame Street as well as with Spiffy Pictures. You're real spiffy David. Well done Rudman!
