Peter Linz

Peter Linz is a puppeteer who is best known for performing a variety of characters for The Muppets, Sesame Street, and Bear in the Big Blue House. He was hired as a performer on Sesame Street in 1991, either assisting or performing minor characters since then. But Peter got his big break on Bear in the Big Blue House performing Tutter, Pip, and others (including those dubbed by celebrities). I read that Linz puppeteered since he was only three and that's pretty impressive for a little boy to do something hard. His first Muppet film was on Muppets from Space, puppeteering Miss Piggy to Frank Oz's voice due to the latter being unavailable. He also did several Muppet projects before that feature film such as a Direct-to-Video. In 2011, Peter Linz was cast as Walter who was introduced in The Muppets (2011) and has been appearing with the Muppets since. Outside of Sesame Street and the Muppets, he has a huge success puppeteering on children's shows such as The Puzzle Place, Between the Lions, The Book of Pooh, Blue's Room, It's a Big Big World, and more. He eventually got a more major role on Sesame Street, and that was taking over the roles of Herry Monster in 2015 and Ernie in 2017 (replacing Billy Barkhurst). The latter year, Peter took over several classic Muppet characters, including Robin the Frog since Matt Vogel took over Kermit. Linz currently performed over a 100 puppet characters, many with the same voices. He is still working with Sesame Street and the Muppets today and recently performed outside on Donkey Hodie. In July 2023, he married fellow puppeteer Alice Dinnean, his occasional performing partner during the 1990s. Peter Linz, you are amazing at puppeteering though it must be exhausting for you to perform on all of those shows. I don't think that there's anyone who can replace you for your talents. And if there is, they will never be as good as you. Keep doing Walter, Ernie, Joe the Legal Weasel, and others Peter. You're spectacular Linz!
