Jonathan Paine

Jonathan Paine is a freelance designer and sculptor who did work for Pixar and the now defunct Blue Sky Studios, as well as other companies. He was also an additional puppeteer for the Muppet special The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years, which was probably his only puppeteer project. Jonathan not only does characters for film, but he also makes toys and figurines. Paine made toys for Disney, Warner Bros, Thinkway Toys, Marvel Comics, and more, though some were figurines and soap bottles. As for his film work, he has mainly done Pixar and Blue Sky Studios films such as The Incredibles, Up, Ice Age, Sausage Party, and more. Even though he only did that one Muppet special, he still got to work with numerous Muppet performers for that special such as Jane Henson, Michael Earl, Debra Spinney, and Tim Gosley. In addition to sculpting, Jonathan Paine works in many diverse fields of entertainment such as puppetry and education, with animation already mentioned above. For educational purposes, he teaches sculpture courses at Think Tank Training Center, a Vancouver training facility for 3D animation, visual effects, and game design. He's probably still doing freelance designs and sculptures today seen from his website and portfolio, both found online. I personally think Jonathan could've done more with the Muppets, but he's probably more experienced in designing and sculpting than puppetry. Hopefully Paine still remembers doing that one Muppet anniversary special, since it was taped back in 1986. If he can, he should give puppetry another shot at some point in the future. But otherwise, he's doing swell with the animation designs and character sculptures he makes for 3D feature films. Jonathan Paine, you are excellent with animation and toy making as well. You also weren't bad at doing puppetry within the Muppets for that anniversary special. Keep on doing freelance designs and sculpting so that you'll go down in history. You've really made the films they were back then Jonathan. That's perfect Paine!
